Pilates Matwork
This renowned programme of exercises devised by Joseph Pilates and originally called Contrology has been taught
since the beginning of the last Century. A combination of strengthening, toning and stretching exercises to
improve posture and strengthen abdominal muscles, Pilates improves core stability and will create a balanced
body. Pilates can help those suffering from back and other joint pain, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis,
improves pelvic floor function and also promotes relaxation.
The MODERN PILATES and STOTT PILATES methods have been developed in conjunction with physiotherapists and are
very safe. The progressive nature of Pilates means that it is suitable for those new to exercise as well as
experienced exercisers looking for increased core stability and improved body shape. Pilates is suitable
during pregnancy (with modifications) and especially beneficial in the post natal period (6 weeks +).
General Information and Prices
Instructors are fully insured and qualified.
Mats and all necessary equipment will be provided at each venue.
For Pilates loose comfortable clothing should be worn, e.g. T-shirt and light-weight trousers or leggings.
Layers are also useful as you can get a bit cold!
Shoes are not required for Pilates, but socks are recommended.
You are required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and Application form before attending the
first class.
Classes hold up to 12 beginners or 15 improvers per class.
A course of 6 Pilates classes cost £54.00. There is a booking fee of £2 applied to each course
booking. An individual attending two or more classes per week only need pay one booking fee.
You are able to omit payment for dates you know in advance you cannot attend. 24 hours notice is required to
cancel a class once the course booking has been made. If 24 hours notice is given a class can be attended in
lieu, subject to availability (valid four weeks from date of cancelled class).
1:1 consultations cost £45.00 per session in our Redhill studio.
Pre-course 1:1’s are £35 when booked in conjunction with booking a place on a course.
For those intending to attend 1:1 on a more ongoing basis we offer a discount on blocks of 5 x 1:1’s @ £195 when
paid for in advance. Dates can be booked individually for your convenience.
Payment must be processed to confirm your place.
