Mat Pilates is the most accessible form of Pilates, with minimal equipment needed and classes available for a range of levels, from beginners to advanced. Mat Pilates is a great place to start when you’re new to Pilates, learning the breathing technique, how to engage your abdominals and other fundamentals like pelvic and shoulder stability, which are also necessary is other forms of Pilates like Reformer and other apparatus. Correct instruction with attention to detail ensures safe technique and can also make the exercises more intense and add challenge.
